The Nova Tool Co. mill stop, shown below, fastens to the back of the fixed jaw of lock down style milling machine vises. It can also be adapted to other types of vises. Several features (see list below pictures) make it the most versatile stop on the market. Price at bottom of page.

1. Mounting on the vise instead of on the table of the machine keeps the table clear and elimantes the vertical bar of table mounted stops that can restrict table movement.
2. It can be configured for any length part. With an extended length main support rod, it will even handle parts that extend beyond the end of the table.
3. The flat, steel arms linking the stop rod to the main support rod are fully adjustable to enable the stop rod to contact any point on the end of the part. Linkage arms can be adjusted without losing the stop position.
4. The linkage arms can be mounted on either end of the main support rod or, with an additional set of linkage arms and stop rod, a stop can be positioned on both sides of the vise. This would facilitate a second action, such as locating a second hole, by just sliding the part in the vise rather than removing and replacing it with another part.
5. Both the main support rod and the stop rod are held in position by split clamps with socket head cap screws to draw the clamp tightly around the rod. This allows very quick and easy adjustment. There are no set screws to dig in and raise burrs. The rods stay smooth and round and always slide easily. They clamp exactly where you position them.
6. Maybe the most unique and useful feature is that the linkage arms and stop rod can be swung out of the way and then back into position without losing the X axis postion.
